Happy 2011!

Isn't it gorgeous?  image via Maroma Resort and Spa
Hello Loves!

I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday season!  I am recovering from an excellent but busy New Years, and I am becoming super excited about a mid-winter treat that Victor and I have coming up in a few weeks... our honeymoon in Mexico!  We found a deal at the Maroma Resort and Spa outside Cancun in Solidaridad on Jetsetter (which I am OBSESSED with!).  Victor was in school when we got married, so we had to leave Maine the day after the wedding so that he could be back in class at 6:30 am Monday morning (it makes me tired just thinking about at!), so we are very ready to take a relaxing trip to celebrate being newlyweds.  Our criteria for a destination were simple: the flight had to be less than 6 hours (Vic only has a week of vacation, so we did not want to lose two days getting there and back), there needed to be a beach, a spa, and little else to distract us from relaxing and enjoying ourselves.  Neither of us have been to Mexico, making Maroma Resort the perfect first escape as a married couple.

I am currently doing a little vegan friendly shopping for this getaway, and I have found some adorable things... most of which I probably don't need, but would love to share anyway :)

I honestly never thought I would get excited about a denim dress, but the shape is so playfully retro modern I cannot help but being drawn to it.  And the best part - the belt is faux leather!  Yay!

I have a watch I adore (a man's Diesel watch I bought in Italy while I was studying abroad), but I lost a link and I have not gotten around to seeing if it could be replaced, mostly because I am scared they will say no.  At only $50, I feel like this sturdy watch by Crow Watches is the perfect watch for me while I work up the courage to have my heart broken.  Also, I love this this neutral cream color is called "bisque."  The name just sounds satisfying...

I discovered wanderlust cambodia through Madewell, and their casual, dreamy fashions seem to be the ideal honeymoon wardrobe.  They use some leather, but it is easy to avoid.  The garments are all hand made in Cambodia, which is also pretty awesome.  I find myself especially drawn to their boyfriend shirts, and there are a ton of dresses that look perfectly comfortable and hippie-ish.  I dream of laying on the Mexican beach in my bikini and shirt casually sipping a margarita and reading in the sun... sounds like heaven.

Just a few items on my wishlist right now... come back tomorrow for The Chic Veggie's 2011 Resolutions!  In the meantime, have you added any vegan goodies to your shopping lists?

Glad to be back loves!

xoxo
